Colorado QB Shedeur Sanders Launches ‘2 Legendary’ Podcast

Last Updated on July 31, 2024
University of Colorado quarterback Shedeur Sanders has launched his podcast, “2 Legendary.” He took to Instagram to share the news. The title is a nod to his apparel line, SS2LEGENDARY. Partnering with Overtime, the podcast features topics beyond football, giving the audience a broader perspective on his brand. The first episode was released on Tuesday.
Represented by SMAC Entertainment and executive producer Constance Schwartz-Morini, this new media venture is a testament to the growth and evolution of Sanders’ merchandise brand. Sanders launched the brand in late 2021, and it now boasts a strong following on Instagram with over 24,000 followers. Initially selling sweatshirts with his signature “$2” logo, Sanders has since trademarked the design for hats, footwear, and other athletic apparel to expand and solidify his brand’s identity.
Sanders, who has close to 2 million followers on Instagram, boasts a robust NIL portfolio and extensive relationships with other apparel brands such as the TB12 Brand, Actively Black, and Urban Outfitters. Sanders joins Colorado teammate Travis Hunter and other high-profile college athletes who have major apparel deals and have expanded into podcasting. University of Oregon women’s basketball player Deja Kelly hosts the podcast, “NILosophy.” Similarly, University of Miami women’s basketball players Hanna and Haley Cavinder are prominent figures in the podcasting world with their show, “Twin Talk.” This trend highlights the importance and impact of brand-building and its power to help expand the community and leverage media, creating new partnerships and brand relationships by reaching broader audiences.
The Sanders media empire continues to grow with the launch of his podcast, building on the media foundation established by his brother, Deion Sanders Jr., who founded Well Off Media. Well Off Media has served as an in-house media vehicle, chronicling the Sanders family’s journey through life and football. In the current athlete landscape, content is an invaluable currency that attracts brand opportunities and allows athletes to control their narratives. Last season, Shedeur threw for 3,230 yards and 27 touchdowns, showcasing his prowess on the field. As Colorado makes a run for a Big 12 Conference title, the added media presence from his podcast further amplifies the visibility and influence of the Buffaloes.
