Sharpie Partners With Former UW Huskies Ahead of Rookie NFL Seasons

Both Michael Penix Jr. and Rome Odunze will have a lot of paperwork to fill out and autographs to sign come the NFL Draft in April, and they’ll be armed with Sharpie brand writing products to do so. Sharpie has partnered with the two former Washington Huskies as the official writing product of their professional rookie seasons.

“Sharpie is synonymous with autographs and signatures, and it is my go-to brand since it offers something for writing on any surface,” Odunze said. “I look forward to making bold statements through my professional career on-and-off the field, and having Sharpie in my pockets is essential to make that a reality.”

Both players will use Sharpie products as they reach milestones in their NFL journeys, including when they sign their first professional contracts. They’ll sign their names using custom-made S-Gel sharpies that feature their signatures engraved down the barrel.

“Being a left-handed quarterback also means I’m a left-handed writer. And just like my fellow lefty writers out there, I am no stranger to the woes of smearing ink and smudge marks on everything I write or sign,” Penix said. “The Sharpie S-Gel pen has changed all that. When I’m signing my name with a S-Gel, I know I can rely on a smear-free signature.”

The Heisman Trophy runner-up and standout wide receiver will also appear in Sharpie creative content, including posts on social media and other platforms throughout the year. Sharpie will be sharing bits and pieces of their rookie seasons, too. Penix Jr. adds Sharpie to an impressive endorsement portfolio that includes Amazon, Raising Cane’s, Celsius, and Adidas. Odunze has a deal with Adidas, too, as well as one with Panini America.

Odunze, who finished his senior season with 13 touchdowns and 1,640 receiving yards, is projected to be a top-15 Draft pick, according to a recent mock draft. Penix Jr., who threw for 36 touchdowns and 4,903 passing yards, is projected to be a second-round pick.
