The following directory is for informational purposes only. In most cases, we have no firsthand knowledge of the attorneys or their experience. Details have been provided by the attorneys listed and are subject to change. You’re advised to research anyone you choose and verify their bar license.

The Brooklyn Law School Sports Law Clinic provides free legal services to individuals involved with sports who cannot afford counsel and who face legal issues arising out of their sports-related role. Among the individuals the clinic serves are college athletes who need assistance with their NIL commercial activity, including contract review and deal negotiation. The clinic also handles NIL Go appeals, disciplinary matters before the College Sports Commission, House settlement claim buyouts, trademark registration, business formation, Visa applications, and advocacy before sport governing bodies and tribunals, including with respect to team eligibility/selection.
Legal services are provided by law students supervised by Professor Jodi Balsam, an experienced attorney and sports law expert. Because the clinic is a non-profit legal services organization, it does not charge any legal fees and clients pay only out-of-pocket expenses (e.g., the filing fee for a trademark registration). Prospective clients can contact the clinic using this form.
