College Football Playoff Launches New Merch with Pitbull

Last Updated on January 14, 2026

With the College Football Playoff National Championship headed to Miami Gardens, the CFP is leaning into the host city’s culture in a very Miami way.

The College Football Playoff and its licensing partner, CLC, have teamed up with GRAMMY® Award–winning artist and philanthropist Pitbull on a limited-edition merchandise collection tied to the championship game. Pitbull, also known as widely known as “Mr. 305,” worked with CFP licensee ’47 Brand to develop designs that blend college football with South Florida style and the energy of the national title game.

According to CFP Executive Director Rich Clark, the goal was to use the championship as more than just a football event.

“Bringing together the CFP, an iconic global artist, and the energy of Miami allows us to connect with fans beyond the game itself, celebrate the unique spirit of the host city, and create something memorable that represents the excitement and passion of the Playoff,” Clark said. “The specially curated collection delivers a Miami flare to our CFP merchandise offerings while supporting the culture and community of our host city.”

Beyond the apparel itself, the collaboration ties into the CFP Foundation’s ongoing philanthropic efforts. Royalties from CFP merchandise sales support Extra Yard for Teachers, the CFP’s community engagement initiative. The partnership with Pitbull also includes grant funding, educator recognition, and additional work with his SLAM Foundation, which focuses on expanding K-12 tuition-free public charter schools in underrepresented communities. SLAM opened its first school in Miami in 2012.

The merchandise features bright colors and bold graphics designed to offer a more fashion-forward take on CFP branding. One item in the collection will be exclusive to teachers attending the Extra Yard for Teachers Summit on Saturday, January 17, 2026. Pitbull is scheduled to speak at the event and will share his personal experiences with educators who influenced his path.

CLC sees the partnership as a natural fit for both the event and the location.

“When you think of Miami and its dynamic, diverse culture, there’s no better representation than Pitbull,” said Nicole Armentrout, SVP of Marketing for CLC. “His global impact and dedicated following align perfectly for this CFP merchandise collaboration, and we are excited to help deliver this unique, fun collection of products to fans.”

For the CFP, the collaboration highlights how host-city identity, licensing, and philanthropy are increasingly intertwined around major championship events—especially when the game comes to a market with as strong a cultural brand as Miami.

This is not Pitbull’s first foray into college athletics. He previously acquired the naming rights for FIU’s football stadium in 2024.
