Basepath’s New General Manager Software for NIL and Revenue Sharing

Last Updated on June 7, 2024

I was able to demo Basepath’s new General Manager software a couple of months ago when it was in development, and I’ve been anxiously awaiting the opportunity to share it publicly. As someone who’s been doing a fair amount of consulting with college athletic departments on NIL and revenue sharing, I think this software will be an important tool as we move into this new era in college athletics.

Basepath GM is a first of its kind tool within college athletics that focuses on providing roster management and insights solutions through aggregated NIL contract data. Insights on fair market value for student-athletes provide support to coaches, administrators, and operators as they manage their teams and organizations through the ever changing landscape of revenue sharing and NIL.

Basepath GM helps athletic departments, collectives and agencies manage and pay student-athletes for their NIL rights based on their budget, and it will easily adapt to the various revenue sharing models I expect departments will adopt in the coming 12-18 months.

Administrators can view student-athlete fair market value. They can build, manage, and run scenario analysis on their current and future rosters. Operators can also generate detailed NIL budget and management reports across all of the key NIL inputs – from collective, agency, and MMR dollars to scholarships and Alston payments. Allowing departments to make informed decisions about NIL deals by providing accurate and current market data, Basepath GM enables administrators, operators, and coaches to work together towards their NIL goals.

Basepath GM’s Roster Builder simplifies the process of managing team rosters, allowing users to track and organize player information, contracts and values efficiently. The tool helps in maintaining a clear picture of all student-athletes, making it simple to strategize and optimize team composition. The Roster Builder brings transparency to rosters from year-to-year as student-athletes and financial commitments matriculate through from one season to the next.

Additionally, the NIL Insights & Reporting Tool provides comprehensive views and detailed reports on the holistic athlete compensation model. This ensures transparency and accountability, helping athletic departments stay compliant with NCAA regulations and institutional policies.

You can check out some of the functionality in the video below.

“We are continuing to bring innovative solutions to the market that meet the current and future needs of the industry,” said Basepath co-founder and CEO Thomas Thomas Jr. “Basepath GM is an incredibly exciting tool that will enable more strategic decision making and data backed visibility to an otherwise opaque market.”

Thomas continued, “while our product is evolving, so is our business model, and we are more excited than ever to bring a true partnership mindset and approach to the industry as it grows and evolves.”

Basepath is a leading provider of NIL operations software for collectives, universities, agents and student-athletes. Basepath works with over 70 NIL operations and has already processed tens of millions of dollars to student-athletes in 2024.
