Clemson Baseball Embraces Individuality With Newest Gear Partnership

Last Updated on January 31, 2025

Clemson Baseball and Absolutely Ridiculous are ushering in a new era in program history through a new partnership.  Absolutely Ridiculous, a creative brand that allows athletes to express themselves confidently through their sports equipment, is now the program’s official provider of fielding gloves, sliding mitts, and glove loops. The Clemson-themed equipment is also available for purchase.

According to The Post and Courier, Tigers baseball head coach Erik Bakich was instrumental in facilitating the partnership through his relationship with former Under Armour executive Kevin Culley, now the Chief Operating Officer at Absolutely Ridiculous. Their leadership team also includes New York Yankees superstar Jazz Chisholm Jr., who operates as the Director of Culture. Chisholm Jr. joined Bakich at Clemson to announce the partnership.

“We are beyond thrilled to partner with Absolutely Ridiculous,” Bakich said. “Its innovative approach and product design creativity has captured the enthusiasm of baseball players at every level. Its products not only shine a spotlight on a player’s individual personality, but it has pioneered a new and different way to build fun and camaraderie into team sports. The artistic vision of Absolutely Ridiculous, plus a 20-year friendship with COO Kevin Culley, who helped launch a global baseball division at a previous company, all contributed to this exciting endeavor. LET’S GO!”

Clemson is leading the way in advancing baseball culture through collaborative partnerships.

“When we look at potential partnerships, we look for partners that aim to grow the sport and boldly do things different,” said X, a former athlete, award-winning artist, and founder of Absolutely Ridiculous. “Coach Bakich and the Clemson Baseball program are exactly that. Their willingness to break the mold and listen to their players’ desires opens up a world of creativity and self-expression in baseball that nobody has seen before at this level. I couldn’t be more excited to help usher this program into a new era and help bring more fun, confidence, and self-expression to the field this season.”

Absolutely Ridiculous is building a strong roster of partners, including Major League Baseball players 2024 All-Star Elly De La Cruz and two-time Cy Young award winner Blake Snell. The brand has also collaborated with UCLA softball star Maya Brady.
