Shelomi Sanders Lands Historic NIL Deal With Rihanna’s Savage X Fenty

Last Updated on February 3, 2025

Alabama A&M women’s basketball player Shelomi Sanders has signed a historic name, image, and likeness deal with business mogul and entertainer Rihanna’s Savage X Fenty brand. Sanders will become a brand ambassador and own a stake in the lingerie and apparel brand. In 2022, Bloomberg reported that the brand’s valuation reached $3 billion.

The partnership marks a significant milestone for Sanders, who is blazing her path within NIL, building off the foundation set by her older brothers, Shedeur and Shilo Sanders. Sanders took to Instagram to share the partnership news with her 472,000 followers.

“Ready to start the New Year off strong in my @savagexfenty Running Hot romper and Supple Flex set #savagexambassador #FITTOBEYOU,” she said.

Sanders continues to expand her NIL portfolio, which includes partnerships with Oikos, KFC, and Dexcom. As a brand ambassador for Savage X Fenty, Sanders will have a profound presence within the college athletic influencer space.

As this partnership marks a successful milestone for Sanders, her path to this point has been met with some scrutiny. She followed her brothers and father, Coach Prime and older brothers to the University of Colorado but ultimately decided to leave Boulder to transfer to Alabama A&M. A move that was seen initially as “stupid” by Coach Prime has now positioned Shelomi to be a beacon of possibility for women and  HBCU athletes within the NIL landscape. Sanders also has Type 1 diabetes and has spoken openly about how she has had to manage her diabetes along with being an athlete. Her story is a testament to perseverance, proving that athletes can carve their path within NIL while breaking barriers.
