New Bobblehead Released for Nebraska Volleyball

Last Updated on September 29, 2023
Last month, Nebraska Volleyball set a world record for attendance at a women’s sporting event when the team played in front of 92,003 fans in Memorial Stadium. Now, the National Bobblehead Hall of Fame and Museum is commemorating that win with an officially licensed, limited-edition bobblehead.
“We are excited to release this very special bobblehead in celebration of the Cornhuskers’ world-record attendance on Volleyball Day in Nebraska at Memorial Stadium,” National Bobblehead Hall of Fame and Museum co-founder and CEO Phil Sklar said. “People of Nebraska who love their volleyball are sure to love this bobblehead!”
The Nebraska Cornhuskers Volleyball team recently competed against Omaha as part of Volleyball Day in Nebraska, drawing an astonishing crowd of 92,003 enthusiastic fans. This remarkable turnout shattered the previous world record for attendance at a women’s sporting event. The day kicked off with an exhibition match featuring in-state Division II powerhouses Nebraska-Kearney and Wayne State.
Currently, the Cornhuskers are ranked No. 2 in the nation with a perfect 11-0 record. To put this record-breaking attendance into perspective, the previous milestone was 91,648 fans during a Champions League soccer match in 2022, where Barcelona triumphed over Real Madrid, 5-2, at Camp Nou Stadium.
“We took a chance by playing in Memorial Stadium, and to go for the record and break it. … I don’t think anybody could have envisioned that when this whole thing started,” Nebraska coach John Cook said.
Grinning from within a miniature Memorial Stadium replica, the Herbie Husker bobblehead proudly clutches a Nebraska volleyball, donning his iconic denim overalls and a crimson cowboy hat, both emblazoned with the Nebraska logo. At the base of the stadium, you’ll find the date, the astounding attendance figure, and the inscription “World Record Attendance for Women’s Sporting Event.”
Each of these unique bobbleheads is meticulously numbered, limited to just 2,023 units, and exclusively obtainable through the National Bobblehead Hall of Fame and Museum’s Online Store. Anticipated to be shipped out in January, these charming collectibles are priced at $40 each, along with a flat-rate shipping fee of $8 per order.
