NIL Car Deals for Female Athletes

When talking about NIL, car deals are often a go-to example. Over the last two years we’ve seen many football players ink deals with local car dealerships, but with the rise of women’s sports, many dealerships are now striking deals with female athletes.

Team-wide NIL deals are becoming increasingly more popular. In 2022, Arkansas Softball struck a deal with Everett Buick GMC in Bryant, Arkansas. A few months later, Seth Wadley Auto Dealership in Perry, OK teamed up with the Oklahoma State softball team to help celebrate their College World Series run.

Although those team-wide deals didn’t involve cars for the ladies, it ushered in a new era of female athletes getting their own car deals.

During that same season, Jocelyn Alo from Oklahoma Softball landed an individual deal with Fowler Automotive ahead of the College World Series, where she was later named the tournament’s Most Outstanding Player.

These softball deals in spring of 2022 set a new standard as basketball season began. Women’s basketball saw record viewership numbers with the NCAA Championship game averaging 9.92 million viewers, national brands and local businesses took note.

After being crowned a National Champion with LSU, Angel Reese inked a deal with Mercedes-Benz of Baton Rouge (with help from MatchPoint Connection) to help celebrate her 21st birthday.

Just a few days later, Tennessee basketball standout, Rickea Jackson landed a deal with Mercedes Benz of Knoxville.

However, these weren’t the first car deals from women’s basketball season. A few months earlier, Ta’niya Latson from FSU basketball secured a deal for a BMW X3 with Capital Euro Cars.

With volleyball season right around the corner, we will see if more athletes like Boise State standout, Paige Bartsch will land deals with local dealerships. Early this year she locked in a deal with Lithia Ford in Boise, Ida. and has continue to post about her Ford Bronco leading up to the season.
