Class of 2024 recruit and Link Academy standout Tre Johnson signed an exclusive name, image and likeness deal with Panini that gives the collectibles company one of its brightest — and youngest — stars yet.
Through the deal, Johnson will appear on Panini’s trading cards and other memorabilia and join a roster that includes top-five NBA Draft picks Ausar and Amen Thompson and Dallas Mavericks star Luka Doncic, along with prominent athletes across multiple other sports.
“This is a milestone for Panini America, and Tre Johnson will be an excellent partner for our brand,” Panini Senior Vice President of Marketing and Athlete Relations Jason Howarth said in a press release. “Not only is he one of the best basketball players in the country, but he’s an athlete from our backyard and someone we have had our eye on. We are excited to support Tre and help him grow as he continues to progress in his basketball career.”
Johnson brings an exciting trajectory and promising skillset to the Panini brand. The star shooting guard has established himself as a contender to be a top NBA draft pick in his time with Lake Highlands High School in Dallas, located near Panini America’s headquarters in Irving, Tex. This upcoming season, he’ll see the court for Link Academy in Branson, Mo. and seek to maintain his spot as the top prospect in his class.
“It’s always been a dream to have my own trading card, and now through my partnership with Panini, it’s happening,” Johnson said. “I’m excited for my first basketball trading cards and can’t wait to keep working together on more fun projects.”
