Elon University defensive lineman Jon Seaton is partnering with Outback Steakhouse through name, image, and likeness to host a charity event to benefit women battling cancer.
The event will occur on Feb. 2 in the Carl Woods Center at the Elon University Football Stadium and will support Fighting Pretty, a nonprofit organization that aims to empower women to feel strong and beautiful during and after cancer treatments. Fighting Pretty was instrumental in helping Jon’s mother, Carole Seaton, battle breast cancer.
Students and local community members are invited to join Seaton and his teammates in building Strenght and Beauty Kits for 500-plus women battling cancer. Strength and Beauty Kits are specialized packages encouraging strength and resilience among cancer patients. All the Strength and Beauty Kits will be delivered to hospitals and clinics across the country, including Ourisman Breast Center and Latino Network. In addition, attendees and volunteers will enjoy catered food provided by Outback Steakhouse.
The event will also feature speakers such as Fighting Pretty founder Kara Frazier, Fighting Pretty director of outreach Corinne Christian, Jon Seaton and his mother, Carole Seaton.
Jon teamed up with Outback Steakhouse’s TeamMates program, which provides college athletes the support and resources to give back to communities and charities. This event is an excellent example of how name, image and likeness can bring awareness and unity around a cause that impacts hundreds of women.
