Amid Undefeated Start, Miami QB Cam Ward Boasts Impressive NIL Portfolio

Last Updated on October 1, 2024
Miami quarterback Cam Ward is having an electric start to the 2024 college season. The Hurricanes signal-caller transferred to Miami from Washington State before the beginning of the season after briefly considering the NFL. In Week 1, he led the Hurricanes into “The Swamp” to face the Florida Gators, where he threw for 385 yards and three touchdowns. On Friday, Sept. 27, Ward and the Hurricanes tacked on another win, this time coming in a 38-36 victory over the conference foe Virginia Tech Hokies. Ward was highly effective under center, throwing for 343 yards and four touchdowns. The Hurricanes’ quarterback converted on a pivotal late 4th down and later led the offense down the field for a go-ahead touchdown.
Ward and the Hurricanes are now 5-0 and look to be one of the ACC’s most competitive teams this year. Ward’s performance on the field has attracted different brands through name, image, and likeness. Below is an account of the NIL deals he has entered. As Ward continues leading the Miami Hurricanes to victory, his NIL opportunities will likely expand. With Miami being one of the most iconic brands in college football, Ward’s name will undoubtedly draw significant attention across the sport.
C4 Energy
Earlier this season, Ward landed an NIL deal with the energy drink brand C4. Ward joins an NIL roster that includes University of Texas quarterback Quinn Ewers and UT women’s volleyball player Ayden Ames.
Marquel Carter, Senior Director of Talent Management and Influencer Marketing, expressed excitement about adding Cam to the team. Among the brand’s values are performance, relentlessness, and drive, which make Cam a natural fit.
“As Cam begins his first season with the Miami Hurricanes, we are incredibly excited to add him to our roster of athletes,” said Marquel Carter, Sr. Director, Talent Management & Influencer Marketing. “We’re proud to expand our NIL program with such a dynamic player who is an authentic fan of the product and embodies our core values of performance, relentlessness, and drive.”
Ward expressed enormous excitement about partnering with C4 Energy, even sharing his favorite flavor he drinks before workouts.
“I’m excited to join the C4 squad,” Ward said. “C4 keeps me fueled in season and in the gym, it gives me the energy to properly rep our team. I grab a can of Frozen Bombsicle, my go to flavor before a workout to keep me on point.”

Canes Connection
Ward inked an NIL deal with Canes Connection, the official collective of the University of Miami. The collective was established back in 2022 to help facilitate and obtain NIL opportunities for the school’s college athletes. Additionally, Canes Connection allows fans and partners to interact with their favorite athletes.
Panini America & Leaf Trading Cards
Trading card deals continue to be popular within NIL, and Ward has made sure to capitalize on the trend, signing with both Panini America and Leaf Trading Cards. In both deals, he received signature trading cards that fans could purchase. Ward’s trading card deals offer fans a unique opportunity within the memorabilia space to secure a moment in Miami football history, given Ward’s performance so far and what can happen if he can keep his undefeated streak going.
The Hurricanes will put their undefeated streak on the line in an ACC matchup against the California Bears this Saturday at 10:30 p.m. ET.
