Commonwealth NIL Signs Four Virginia Tech Men’s Basketball Players

Commonwealth NIL recently signed four Virginia Tech Men’s Basketball players for this upcoming season. The new signees include:

  • Darius Maddox
  • Sean Pedulla
  • Hunter Cattoor
  • Justyn Matts

In a statement that the CNIL Co-Founders Nick and Forrest Rush gave to WDBJ-7 they stated, “We are proud to welcome Sean, Darius, Hunter, and Justyn to the Commonwealth NIL family. As U.S. Army veterans and public service advocates, we meticulously selected these student- athletes for their exceptional leadership on and off the field of play, their embodiment of our values, and their desire to grow professionally.”

Launch of the #RunItBackVT campaign

Given that it is Matts’s final year of eligibility, CNIL is launching the #RunItBackVT campaign to rally support for Virginia Tech’s Men’s Basketball team. The goal of the campaign is that it empowers the team will win its second ACC Championship this season.

To honor the athletes, CNIL is going to issue a commemorative coin celebrating each athlete’s historical moments in the 2022 season. CNIL chose the following moments CNIL for each player’s coins:

  • Darius Maddox: Championship-saving three-pointer in the ACC Tournament
  • Sean Pedulla: One of his postseason performances
  • Hunter Cattoor: 2022 ACC Tournament MVP award
  • Justyn Matts: 2022 ACC Scholar-Athlete of the Year Award

In a joint statement given to WDBJ-7 the college-athletes said, “It is an honor to join the Commonwealth NIL family. We look forward to working with businesses, charities, and fans in the Virginia Tech community—and developing lifelong brands.”

How can fans get involved?

In addition to the coins, CNIL is making t-shirts and sweats designed for the campaign and each individual college-athlete, for purchase. When the coins or the merchandise will be available for purchase has not been determined. However, fans can purchase one of CNIL’s three membership packages now.

CNIL’s beginner package is the Walk-On, and costs $10 a month. The next package is the All-American Investor package that includes the benefits from the Walk-On package plus additional benefits, which costs $50 a month. The largest and most-inclusive package CNIL offers is their Campus Legend package, and it costs $100 a month. To buy a membership from CNIL and to learn more about each package follow the link here.
