The MESA Foundation, the official name, image, and likeness collective of San Diego State University athletics, has made an addition to its operations.
The collective announced Thursday the decision to partner with Basepath, an NIL operations software. Used by countless other collectives around the country, the company will help streamline communications for Aztec college athletes looking to partner with local charitable groups.
College athletes will also have access to Basepath Wallet, which will help consolidate their NIL deals, income, tax estimations, and financial support, all while ensuring compliance with NCAA regulations and guidelines.
“We’re excited to announce this partnership with MESA Foundation, whose commitment to supporting Aztec student athletes’ personal growth and community engagement is unwavering,” stated Basepath Co-Founder and CEO Thomas Thomas Jr. “We are excited to collaborate with MESA Foundation, enriching the San Diego State University campus experience and fostering a strong spirit of community engagement.”
SDSU athletics recently announced a multi-year partnership with the foundation, becoming the official collective of Aztec athletics. Over the past year, the school’s college athletes have partnered with countless non-profits in the area. Just some of the opportunities it has provided include hosting local youth basketball camps, supporting the Walk for ALS in Mission Bay, handing out food for The San Diego Food Bank.
Jeff Smith, the collective’s founder, believes its newest partnership will provide extra visibility to local charitable groups throughout the year.
“We are thrilled to partner with Basepath, a leader in NIL operations software, to elevate our support for SDSU Aztec student-athletes and for our organization as a whole,” said Smith, the President and Founder of MESA Foundation. “Basepath allows for an extremely simplified way in which we communicate with our student-athletes and promotes accountability in a straight forward, app based program that allows us to continue our focus on growing our efforts in the community and with our expanding base of loyal Aztec supporters.”
