Texas Tech Softball Phenom NiJaree Canady Signs With Easton

Last Updated on February 5, 2025

Texas Tech softball star NiJaree Canady has agreed to an exclusive multi-year name, image and likeness and professional equipment deal with Easton softball.

The Red Raiders softball program joins Easton with an exclusive multi-year equipment agreement. As part of the agreement, the Red Raiders will exclusively play with Easton bats, gloves, helmets, catcher’s gear, and batting gloves.

Canady will become an Easton ambassador and one of six inaugural members of Team Mahomes in an NIL marketing initiative to promote Patrick Mahomes’ Adidas line.

Canady transferred to Texas Tech following two dominant seasons at Stanford, where she led the Cardinal to back-to-back Women’s College World Series appearances. She won the 2024 USA Softball Collegiate Player of the Year after amassing 337 strikeouts and a 0.73 earned run average over 230.2 innings pitched in her sophomore season.

“We are pleased to announce the partnership with NiJaree Canady that will extend through her professional career,” Easton Sports Marketing Manager Julie Tobyansen said. “NiJaree is a force on the field and we are thrilled to stand by her as she dominates for seasons to come.”

Canady previously made noise in the NIL space after receiving a deal worth over $1 million to join Texas Tech from Stanford last July. This historic deal gave her a higher payout than all but one collegiate softball coach and showcased Canady’s brand power in the NIL sphere.

The Red Raiders enter the 2025 season with championship aspirations due to their top-ranked transfer portal class and No. 9 preseason ranking, according to Softball America. Texas Tech joins the Easton brand alongside over 100 other programs and collegiate softball powerhouses like UCLA, Ole Miss, Arkansas, Arizona, and Fullerton.

Canady’s agreement with Easton solidifies her as one of the sport’s brightest stars and a powerful brand in NIL. Easton posted a short promotional video to social media that showcases some of Canady’s softball journey up to this point in her career, which starts a new chapter with her joining the brand as an ambassador.

“We are here NiJa. Every pitch, every swing, every moment led us here,” Canady said in the Easton promo. “It’s a new beginning filled with new challenges and new opportunities. Things might be different, but this isn’t the end of our story. It’s a new chapter.”
