High School basketball star and social media sensation Eli Ellis is the latest athlete to join Under Armour’s emerging name, image, and likeness roster. Ellis will star in the newest installment of Under Armour’s creative video series“Let Them Talk,” which began with South Carolina women’s basketball earlier this year. Ellis’ version of the series will have him collaborate with the creative collective RDCWorld, known for its viral comedy skits and pop culture parodies that blend storytelling and sports fandom.
Ellis said in a release that signing with Under Armour was a no-brainer.
“I’ve been working my whole life to get to this point, and UA has always been about that same mindset—outworking the competition and proving yourself every time you step on the court,” he said. “I’m hyped to be part of the UA family and can’t wait to keep pushing my game to the next level.”
Ellis, a University of South Carolina signee, has cemented himself as one of high school basketball’s elite scorers. Ellis’ ability to hit tough shots and shoot the three-point shot at a high rate makes him a threat on offense. His talent has been displayed in the Overtime Elite League for the YNG Dreamerz. In the championship game, Ellis was clutch, hitting a game-winning three-pointer with time running out to deliver YNG Dreamerz the Overtime Elite title. Ellis was the game’s leading scorer with 32 points and became the second player in OTE history to win back-to-back league MVPs.
For all Ellis’s talent on the court, he has also made a name for himself on social media with nearly 700,000 followers on Instagram and 1.3 million followers on TikTok. Ellis will be a vital asset to Under Armour’s content offerings.
In addition to signing Ellis, they added six active college basketball players to their NIL roster, including UCLA Center Lauren Betts, South Carolina guard Te-Hina Paopao, and Ohio State guard Jaloni Cambridge. For the men’s side, Auburn guard Tahaad Pettiford, Tennessee guard Zakai Zeigler, and Kansas forward Flory Bidunga all signed with the brand.
