5-Star MBB Recruit Nate Ament Signs Game-Changing NIL Deal With Fanstake

High school basketball superstar Nate Ament has the prep hoops universe in a frenzy about which college he will take his talents to. While also announcing his top 11 schools, the five-star recruit entered into an equity-based NIL partnership with Fanstake. This fan-inspired NIL platform allows college sports lovers to pledge financial support through “stakes” to their favorite athletes to join or stay with their favorite teams.
As part of the partnership, Ament shared with the public his shortlist of colleges he is considering: Arkansas, BYU, Duke, Georgetown, Kansas State, Kentucky, Louisville, Notre Dame, Tennessee, and Texas. The funds accumulated from the school he selects are then turned into a NIL deal. However, fans get 100% of their contributions back if the athlete selects a different school.
This marks his first equity NIL deal for Ament and further expands Fanstake’s presence in college basketball.
“I’m proud to partner with Fanstake,” Ament said. “This platform gives fans a unique way to be part of the recruiting process, which is pretty cool. I’m still weighing my options for where I’ll play, and there’s a lot to consider, but it’s exciting to see how fans can get involved in helping me find the right fit.”
Greg Glass, CEO and Co-Founder of Fanstake shared his thoughts on Ament’s involvement with the brand and its impact on NIL.
“The NIL landscape is changing, and fans now have the chance to directly influence where top athletes like Nate Ament decide to play,” Glass said. “This is the future of college sports—fans actively participating in the recruitment process, helping teams stay competitive, and ensuring athletes understand their true market value. With Nate still uncommitted, now’s the perfect time for fans to stake their claims and help shape his decision.”
As the excitement builds around Ament’s commitment, he will look to capitalize on unique NIL opportunities. He signed a NIL deal with Reebok last fall, making him the only high school athlete on their roster. Ament impressed in the Hoophall Classic, leading Highland School to a 61-57 victory over Prolific Prep. Ament scored 22 points, secured 11 rebounds, and also won MVP.
