Adidas Signs Texas A&M Women’s Basketball Star Janiah Barker

Adidas has expanded its women’s basketball name, image, and likeness portfolio by signing Texas A&M forward Janiah Barker.

Hailing from Marietta, Georgia, Barker, a top-five recruit in her class, emerged as a standout freshman in 2022, earning McDonald’s All-American honors. In her impressive debut season, she led the Aggies in scoring, showcasing her immediate impact and talent. As a sophomore, Barker has played a crucial role in leading the Aggies to the SEC tournament quarterfinals, demonstrating her continuous growth and contribution to the team’s success.

The newest addition to the brand’s NIL roster, Barker will participate in various marketing campaigns. Given that Texas A&M is an Adidas-sponsored school, she will also represent the brand on the court. The two-time USA Olympic gold medalist expressed tremendous gratitude for the opportunity to partner with the brand.

“I couldn’t be more blessed to be a part of the Adidas family,” said Janiah Barker. “They have taken me in with open arms and shown me love since day one. I’m so excited to be on this journey and inspire the next generation with the three-stripe community.”

Adidas has long been a champion in the realm of college athletes benefiting from NIL, prioritizing equality, and empowering athletes who make an impact on and off the field. Barker joins SEC counterpart and LSU Tiger Hailey Van Lith as the brand’s latest women’s basketball brand ambassador. With over 40,000 followers on both Instagram and TikTok, Barker brings a solid presence to the brand. Additionally, she has joined the group of college athletes on Crocs’ NIL roster. It will be essential to keep a close eye on Barker as she appears to be the focal point of Adidas’ women’s basketball and a driver in the success of the Texas A&M lady Aggies going forward.
